It’s nice that we’ve had Pascal for a couple months now and everyone’s interest is still as high now as the day that we brought him home. My husband Dave has been so wonderful about Pascal. Although he honestly didn’t want a bird, I know that he loves Pascal as much as I do. Michael is my constant little helper. He always wants to be involved in everything to do with Pascal–even cleaning the cage. Pascal is really a part of my family.
Back to the story, Michael and I had the day off for Veteran’s Day. I listed about ten things that we could do for the day. Instead, he chose to take Pascal back to the store where we got him for a visit and some Christmas shopping. Michael about broke my heart when he asked Pascal if he wanted to go see his Mommy. I’m his Mommy now.
Anyway, we laid a towel down in the back seat of the Jeep and took the cardboard carton for when I needed to get him from the Jeep to the store. I’m still nervous about just holding him in open air. The drive went well. Michael sat in the back and talked to Pascal. It’s about a 50 minute drive for us. It’s a long time for an 8 year old, so I can’t imagine how long it felt to Pascal.
Teena and Diane were both there and wonderful as always. I picked up the full-spectrum lighting for Pascal and a table top playstand that I can carry around from room to room, as well as some toys and treats. Pascal got the his nails clipped while we were there. He really needed it! He’s been tearing us up for a while. He has a sand perch and uses it, but it just doesn’t seem like enough. We visited for an hour or so and then headed home.
I thought about stopping by work with Pascal because my friends all want to see him, but I decided not to overdo. It made me a little nervous, but it’s getting easier to travel with my bird. I had a real nice outing with Michael and Pascal.
