The day started much like yesterday, although not so rushed. Michael was going to his Grandma McKenzie's which is up the road. It saves us over half an hour compared to yesterday. I like the mornings with less driving and am looking forward to school starting for that reason.

I went downstairs early so grey could come out for a while if he wanted. I figured he could play outside his cage for 45 minutes or so. Instead he just wanted to stay inside, stretch and eat. Michael and I both went over and talked to him a number of times. Michael checked the water and food bowls to make sure he had plenty to eat. We gave him some corn on the cob to munch on too. Goodbyes, I love yous and then off we went for the day.

When I got home, grey was in his cage eating some goodies that Dave had given him.  He nicely stepped onto my hand and went into the pet carrier.  Michael decided that he wanted to go with me.  The vet was really good with the bird but grey didn't like some of the stuff that she did, like towelling him.  I never heard him scream like that–he's normally a quiet bird.  Seeing and hearing the bird upset really upset Michael.  So, I sat here comforting Michael as the bird got his exam.   The doctor said that everything looked good, as I expected.

Anyway, when we got home, grey treated us as if nothing happened.  I'm glad he didn't hold it against me since I'm working to build his trust.
