I don’t think most people would say a promotion and raise pales in comparison with getting a bird…but I’m going to say it.
Pascal is my dream bird. If you’ve been reading along, you know that already. I wanted an African Grey from the time I was an early teenager. I’m still confident in my choice of bird and where I got it from. I really would like to say once again thank you to Teena at Rensselear Pets for making him a part of our family and being so supportive of me these past few months. She’s never failed to answer my silly questions and give me confidence. Pascal has added a lot of happiness to my whole family’s life.
Peanut, my rescue bird, is continuing to do well. Dave had hoped to get him on his hand by the end of the year. That unfortunately hasn’t occurred yet, but he’s socially adjusted quite a bit. He’s getting used to night-night, playing with toys, loves being out of his cage, and growls less. He’s still adjusting, as we are still adjusting to him too. I think he seems happier overall and we’re happy to have him as a part of our family. My doubts about him are lessening and maybe there is hope for making a nice companion bird out of him. I heard Dave telling Peanut that since Pascal is my bird, he could be his. Dave’s gone from telling me I couldn’t have a bird to trying to win their love away from me! Honestly, I couldn’t be happier that he’s so involved with them.
Michael, of course, loves the birds too. He often helps me, even when I’m cleaning the cages. He’s interested in all aspects of caring for the birds. He says he wants his own bird. He’s been so helpful with the greys that I’m considering it, although it will be something a bit smaller.
